Longridge City, a city in a world full of changing ethics, morals and, more importantly, changing genetics. In this original anime roleplay, witness an evolutionary change that will make people the world over re-think their ideas on mutations.
This is a literate roleplay forum, so please make sure that when you join, you will be able to keep up with lengthy and detailed posting. Typos etc. are perfectly reasonable, but please use a spell-checker as often as you can! Grammar is also very important, as it should be in any piece of writing.
Any questions or queries, feel free to PM a member of staff!

PLOT and SETTING
This forum is based lightly on the anime S-CRY-ed, with a similar storyline. However, as it is not literally based on it, you won't need to even know about s-CRY-ed to be a member ^_^
The year is 2046. It has been thirty long years since the Epidemic, and the world is still recovering from its effects. When an accident occured at Longridge City's Scientific Research Facility (also known as LaCSoRF), a large amount of research chemicals were accidentally released into the surrounding area. Because of the genetic research being undertaken in LaCSoRF, the chemicals had a horrific effect on the local populace. Everything and everyone within a mile radius of the laboratory was killed immediately.
It wasn't until a year later that anyone realised that there had been lasting effects on the local populace, when a baby was born with the ability to manipulate air currents. The government quickly took the baby away from its parents to find out what had caused this phenomenon, and it was quickly understood that the chemicals released during the Epidemic had not only killed those closest to the epicentre, but had had an effect on the genetic makeup of the people of Longridge City, giving them the ability to utilise strange, superhuman powers.
Suspicions quickly rose, and people wondered whether they would all start having these sorts of abilities manifest in themselves, but after a short while, it was apparent that only babies born after the Epidemic manifested any strange abilities. However, this did not stop widespread panic from ensuing. The government eventually stepped in again and started to take away any children who manifested these powers. An organisation, LAMP -- Longridge Association for Mutant Protection -- was formed by the Government to deal with these 'mutants'.
Ten years ago, a side-organisation of LAMP was formed; these elite soldiers were mutants themselves, as the government had come to realise that they would need to fight mutants with mutants in order to subdue the more powerful ones.
But what becomes of the mutants that are captured by LAMP? They are given a choice to join LAMP's elite soldiers and help to capture other mutants. If they refuse, then they are taken away to a research facility where they are experimented on. Of course, nobody but those high-up in the government and LAMP know of this destination, which is why the general populace do not tend to argue against the capture of mutants. The general public are simply told that those mutants captured are taken to a secure facility overseas.
Whilst the occurance of people born with superhuman abilities is concentrated in and around Longridge City, only around 30% of babies are actually born with these abilities. The rest are perfectly 'normal'.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MUTANTS?
Many go into hiding, keeping out of the public eye, where they will not be found by LAMP. Others continue with an ordinary life, hiding the fact that they have superhuman powers. And the rest? Well, they join in the rebellion...
THE REBELLION
Nobody had successfully rebelled against the government until four years ago, when Matsuda Shiro started to fight back against the opression forced on people who he and may others like himself that felt, no, that knew they didn't deserve. Nobody before had ever thought of opposing the government, as they had the LAMP group to fight anyone who tried to oppose them, but Shiro stood up and fought for their rights.
A year later, and Shiro is still helping those mutants in need, finding those who want it safe hiding places, and helping others to escape to another country that will help them. Others who want to help in the fight he stands alongside.

ADDITIONAL PLOT
A 'cure' has been found for mutants.
LAMP scientists have finally found a so-called 'cure' for the cause of the mutation which gives 30% of people strange abilities and 'powers'.
How will you react? This should be a god-send. No more ridicule against mutants, and an end to the need for having elite LAMP soldiers is in sight!
Or is it?
For this 'cure' may not be what it seems.
Yes, the cure will suppress the mutation which causes the powers and abilities in some people, but that is not all it will do. No, this cure will eventually dull your mind so much so that you will become mere puppets for the government. Ready-made soldiers to be used at their command at an instant's notice, when they feel the time is right.
But, of course, nobody but those with the highest security clearance in the government, and those scientists who assisted with the research know this.
To all intense purposes, this is the cure that people have been praying for thir entire lives. An end to the insanity of the Epidemic.
